The Fifth-Generation Morgan Aero 8 Brings a Classic Touch to Modern Motoring

The Aero 8’s improved comfort, convenience, and safety should make for Morgan’s best open-air experience yet…

Fifteen years since the launch of the original Aero 8, Morgan is introducing the fifth generation of its iconic sports car. The new design, influenced by classic open cars from the 1960s, stays true to the company’s styling—with low-slung seating and a dramatic clamshell trunk that contains the double-lined mohair soft top. The car is also available with an optional hard top. The interior styling has been updated with new dashboard arrangements, real-wood accents, leather trim, and textured box-woven carpets.

A host of new features has been added for driver comfort and convenience, including an air-conditioning system, cruise control, and a BMW limited-slip differential. Safety improvements include airbags, ABS, and antiroll bars. The 4.8-liter V-8 engine offers 367 hp with either a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission. Owners can customize the car with optional touchscreen media systems, detailing packages, and a variety of paint and leather combinations.

Morgan ceased production of the Aero SuperSports and Aero Coupé this month and will begin producing the Aero 8 during the fourth quarter of this year. The car will be available in highly limited numbers, and for now it does not look like the car will be sold in the United States. (morgan-motor.co.uk)
