Front Runners May 2015: Six Seconds of Separation

The Evora 400 is the fastest-ever Lotus production road car...

Equipped with a new supercharged 400 hp V-6 engine, among other enhancements, the forthcoming Lotus Evora 400 (lotuscars.com) recently completed a lap of the company’s test track 6 seconds quicker than the next-fastest road-going Lotus, the Evora S. The Evora 400 benefits from an additional 55 hp and, because of a new aluminum chassis and redesigned body and interior, a weight reduction of nearly 50 pounds compared to the Evora S. It accelerates from zero to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds and reaches a top speed of 186 mph. The Evora 400 will enter production this summer and reach the North American market in the fall. Lotus has yet to announce a price.
