The Thriftmaster’s exterior styling is based on that of the 1947 Chevrolet 3100, one of the most popular pickups of the post–World War II era. However, there is nothing retro about the performance of the Thriftmaster’s V-8 engine, which, when equipped with an optional supercharger, can generate 440 hp and propel the truck to a top speed of 185 mph. Its name notwithstanding, the Thriftmaster has a starting price of $245,000.
