Several years ago, when this example was discovered in Caracas, Venezuela, it looked very different: more old nag than Prancing Horse.
The car’s 4.0-liter Colombo V-12 engine makes 300 hp.
Prior to the restoration, this Ferrari had been found resprayed in a flat, faded blue and had tarnished chrome, drooping door hinges, more than one dent and a seized engine.
The Ferrari 330 GTC being stripped down during the early stages of the three-year restoration.
Designed by Aldo Bravarone at Pininfarina, the Ferrari 330 GTC fuses the delicate nose of the 500 Superfast with the tapering tail of the 275 GTS.
The interior, retrimmed in sumptuous tan leather, includes a period Becker Europa radio—a Ferrari dealer-fit option in the 1960s.
The Pininfarina logo is cast into the ashtray.
Bell Sport & Classic also obtained a copy of the factory build sheet, which showed the Ferrari had left Maranello in Verde Chiaro Metallizzato: a light metallic green. Its steel shell and aluminum panels were duly resprayed.
In order to keep the car as original as possible, many components were stripped down and refurbished, rather than simply replaced.
The car being honored with a class win at the 2022 Salon Privé Concours d’Elégance.
