Aston Martin is spinning off the Lagonda name as an all-electric, luxury sub-brand. The Vision Concept won’t go into production as is, but gives a hint to what future vehicles may look like. Since the Vision concept is fitted with electric motors instead of a large combustion engine, Aston Martin designers were able to play with the car’s proportions. The design maximizes interior space and aerodynamics, and because most of the car’s strength comes from the floor, traditional structural pillars are deleted to allow passengers to simply stand up and walk right in and out of the car. The Vision Concept theoretically delivers a 400-mile range and would be capable of level-4 autonomous driving, meaning the car can pilot itself under most circumstances.
