If you love Bentleys, you want a Bentley 4.5–Litre Supercharged Tourer—otherwise known as a Bentley Blower. Scorned by W.O. Bentley, who believed that adding a supercharger (aka a “blower”) to his creation would “pervert its design and corrupt its performance,” the car has a fan base that begs to differ.
Bonhams sold the greatest of the 50-odd Bentley Blowers at Goodwood in 2012—Sir Henry “Tim” Birkin’s own machine, which fetched $3.5 million.
