2016 Aston Martin DB9 GT
Bearing the initials of industrialist Sir David Brown—who purchased Aston Martin in 1947—the 2016 DB9 GT is the next generation from an illustrious lineage founded in 1950 with the first marketed DB edition. Under the hood of the latest incarnation lies a quad overhead cam, 48-valve, 6-liter V-12 that generates 540 hp. The two-door coupe can accelerate from zero to 62 mph in 4.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 183 mph. Engine response is regulated by a 6-speed transmission with a shift-by-wire control system. The aluminum, magnesium alloy, and composite exterior—with 70 percent of the body panels newly designed for the model—houses a luxurious interior flush with full-grain Bridge of Weir leather, walnut facia trim, and a 700-watt sound system. Pricing for the new DB9 will start at $202,775. (astonmartin.com)
