The 1999 BMW Z8 was Pierce Brosnan’s refined roadster when he took the wheel as Bond in The World Is Not Enough. The Henrik Fisker–designed aluminum body bore a 400 hp V-8 engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. Rocketing from zero to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds, the Z8 reaches its zenith at 155 mph.
Always at Bond’s back, Q had equipped the car with surface-to-air missiles controlled by a guidance system in the steering wheel. The vehicle could also be operated remotely by smart key. Despite its state-of-the-art arsenal, however, the covert convertible was sliced in two by massive spinning blades hanging from one of evil Elektra’s helicopters.
