From September 3 through 5, car cognoscenti the world over will convene in Woodstock, England, to see and be seen at the 10th annual Salon Privé and its marque attraction, the 2015 Chubb Insurance Concours d’Elegance. Set on the grounds of Blenheim Palace, home to the Duke and Duchess of Marlborough—and the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill—the three-day display of automotive aristocracy will include classic and one-off models (including motorcycles), the latest supercars, and concepts.
Flowing with Champagne and attendees dressed to impress, the garden-party-style Concours kicks off the Salon on Thursday the 3rd. Awards will be given in 10 specific classes, including prewar luxury and touring types, roofless roadsters, fixed-head coupes from the 1950s and 1960s, and Pininfarina–designed Ferraris. On Friday, a supercar procession and automobile auction compete for attention with the Boodles Ladies’ Day contest, where elegantly adorned women—bedecked in Boodles jewelry and a mandatory hat or a hairpiece—vie for classiest couture. The celebration motors on through Saturday with another parade of classics in the morning followed by the inaugural Pirelli Prestige & Performance supercar competition. With each day’s admittance fee starting at $177, every attendee will be treated to a Pommery Champagne Reception, a lobster luncheon (or Mediterranean barbecue on Saturday), and, naturally, an afternoon tea service.
