The Best of the Best 2003: Coupes – Jaguar XKR

When retooling the 2003 Jaguar XKR, Ford’s Premier Automotive Group knew enough to leave the Quick Change flawless exterior virtually untouched. Jaguar’s improvements were made where they were needed: under the hood. A completely redesigned power train includes a new 4.2-liter, 390-hp, supercharged V-8 that propels the $82,000 XKR from zero to 60 in 5.2 seconds. A 6-speed transmission shifts seamlessly, while the XKR’s Dynamic Stability Control and Computer Active Technology Suspension keep the Jaguar straight as a rail en route to its electronically limited top speed of 155 mph.
