This Is Your Chance to Own the World’s First Rolls-Royce Dawn

The first example of the new convertible will headline the Naples Winter Wine Festival auction…

On January 30, guests at the Naples Winter Wine Festival in Florida will not only have a chance to take home vino of exceptional varietal and vintage, but also a vehicle more difficult to obtain than a bottle of 1934 Domaine de la Romanée-Conti—the first Rolls-Royce Dawn drophead coupe available anywhere. Even though production of the courtly convertible begins in February, the entire first year’s yield has already been spoken for, making this a car to be coveted.

One of the most notable charity auctions in the nation, the three-day fete runs from January 29 through 31. Friday night features a selection of Vintners Dinners hosted at 17 private residences—each showcasing specific winemakers from around the world—paired with the cuisine of celebrity chefs from across the United States. On Saturday, the Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort, Naples provides the proper ambience of affluence for the attendee lunch, as well as the auction and after-party.

But of course, the possibility of owning the first Rolls-Royce Dawn in the world is sure to be the highlight of the night. Built specifically for the festival, the 563 hp roadster (a two-door that seats four) will feature an Andalusian White exterior with a deep-red roof and matching red-leather interior. Delivery is scheduled for April.

Among the other 63 bespoke lots on the block will be tailored wine tours to Argentina, Chile, Australia, France, Italy, New Zealand, and Spain; private jet vacations to attend the Masters Golf Tournament or New York’s Fashion Week; and, for football fans, a chance to cheer on the Dallas Cowboys alongside owner Jerry Jones in his suite at AT&T Stadium.

As fundraising is the focus, tickets are only available as comprehensive festival packages for two, with prices starting at $10,000. To date, the event has raised over $135 million since 2001, with proceeds benefiting the Naples Children & Education Foundation’s support of underprivileged and at-risk youth in the region.
