Azimut’s new 38, launched in early 2010, is designed as an entrée to that Italian builder’s popular flybridge series. But the company didn’t compromise on features or construction. The layout was conceived to make optimal use of every available inch of space, from the layout of the flybridge to the size of the dinette on the main salon. The boat also has a joystick easy docking system to make it more pleasant to run. The interior, a combination of light pickled oak joinery and leather and steel accents, is elegant and bright, and the staterooms include a large master with through-hull windows and a VIP midships cabin that is surprisingly large for a 38. It reaches a highly respectable top speed of 32 knots.
