Baraka Comes First in 2010 for Turkish Yard

The 191-foot Baraka paved the way for the other four yachts in build at the two yards of Turkey’s Proteksan-Turquoise, taking the honors of first yacht launched in 2010. With naval architecture by the Proteksan-Turquoise in-house team and interior design by Italy-based Francesco Paszkowski, Baraka offers guests plenty of space and entertainment options, including a library and full gym. Multiple exterior dining areas keep guests in tune with the out-of-doors, and a water-level beach platform gives easy access to the sea. Up on the sky deck, a hot tub surrounded by sun pads provides space for the sun worshippers, and a sauna offers up relaxation. For fun on the water, Baraka carries two large tenders, a 22-footer and a 15-footer, deployable via two Nautical Structures cranes. Twelve guests will find reprieve in the six staterooms, with service provided by up to 12 crew. Two Caterpillar 3512B engines give the steel-and-aluminum Baraka a 17-knot maximum speed and a 15-knot cruising speed. It can travel 4,000 nautical miles at 14 knots and 5,000 at 12. Quantum ZeroSpeed stabilizers keep the whole thing steady. Baraka is built to ABS, +A1 E, +AMS A1, and MCA LY2 specifications. (+90.216.474.25.90, www.proteksan-turquoise.com)
