The dutch shipyard Heesen completed seven yachts in 2011, of which Quinta Essentia (www.heesenyachts.nl; available for charter through Nakhimov, www.nakhimov.com) was the standout. Delivered last June as the largest yacht in the 34-year-old builder’s range, Quinta Essentia sports a red-wine-colored hull in reference to the owner’s passion for Italian wines. The yacht’s commodious aft-deck spaces are covered with canvas awnings for shade, while the forward main deck and the top-deck hot tub and seating area provide several areas exposed to the sun. The yacht’s exterior highlight is unquestionably the aft main deck’s 1,850-gallon pool, which sprays a 10-foot-wide water curtain from 3,000 tiny jets to separate the pool area from the bar. So that Quinta Essentia’s 12 passengers do not feel cramped in the yacht’s interior, Heesen employed circular designs for many of the communal spaces. If Quinta Essentia’s guests do get stir-crazy, the yacht offers several options for escape, including a pair of WaveRunners and Seabobs and a custom 25-foot limousine tender.
