Christensen’s Repeat Client Builds on Past Projects

Although experienced yachtsman John Rosatti liked his last boat from Christensen Shipyards, Nice N’ Easy, he took the opportunity on his new, 162-foot vessel from the shipyard, Remember When, to make a few changes. While the feel of Remember When is reminiscent of his last yacht, the interior design from Carol Williamson is a bit more contemporary, and the sundeck is six feet wider and nine feet longer. Similar to other builds in the 162-foot category, the sundeck hot tub is located at centerline, but Rosatti added a twist: barstool seating around the hot tub that gives those seated unobstructed views forward. The extra deck space allows him to store a few toys, including two Harley-Davidson motorcycles and a couple of Vespas. A behind-the-scenes change that most will not notice is a climate-controlled, soundproof A/V room off the owner’s suite study that provides easy access to the boat’s audiovisual equipment.

Like most Christensen yachts, Remember When showcases the shipyard’s intricate stonework, which is carefully chiseled by in-house specialists. For his second Christensen, Rosatti requested electric heating for the marble bathroom floors. Remember When accommodates 12 guests in six staterooms, as well as 11 crew, in an interior that features light carpets, glowing walnut joinery, and creamy-white sofas and chairs accented by pillows and bold brown furnishings. In addition to the Harleys and Vespas, the yacht also carries a Nautica Widebody crew tender and a Brownies dive compressor, and it can tow a Marlago fishing boat.

Remember When achieves a top speed of 17 knots and a cruise speed of 14 knots via two MTU 12V4000 engines, which also give her a range of more than 4,000 nautical miles. Remember When is fitted with an integrated dynamic positioning system from Navis, allowing her to stay in a fixed position in spite of weather and current condition—a first for a yacht of this size.
