Enjoy the Grand Prix de Monaco Aboard a Charter Yacht

Floating Life offers two yachts for charter during the races…

The annual Grand Prix de Monaco is one of the Formula 1 racing calendar’s most highly anticipated events. First held in 1929, the event takes place on a circuit carved from the principality’s public streets. The 72nd running of the Grand Prix will be held from May 22 to 25, and attendees will have race-viewing options ranging from grandstand seating to private terrace suites overlooking the course. However, one of the most unusual and exciting options for viewing the races is from the deck of a private yacht berthed mere yards from the track in Port Hercule. For this year’s Grand Prix, the yacht brokerage and charter firm Floating Life is offering two yachts from its fleet, Ocean Emerald and Ocean Sapphire, for charter during the races.

Constructed at Italy’s Rodriquez Cantieri Navali in 2009 and 2011, respectively, Ocean Emerald and Ocean Sapphire are 135-foot sibling yachts that share an aggressive, futuristic hull design from Norman Foster’s firm Foster and Partners. The yachts, each of which features 2,500 square feet of exterior space, are perfect for watching the Grand Prix. Their interiors are equipped with floor-to-ceiling windows that provide sweeping views and plenty of natural light. Their full-beam owner’s suites are each equipped with two outdoor terraces, perfect for viewing the races in a more intimate setting. The yachts’ sundecks provide uninterrupted vistas and feature a large curved sofa and expansive sun pad. With accommodations for as many as 12 in five cabins, both yachts provide the ideal venue for sharing the experience of watching the races with friends and family. Both Ocean Emerald and Ocean Sapphire are available for charter during the Grand Prix for a weekly base rate of about $180,000. (www.floatinglife.com)
