Luxury’s 25 Most Innovative Brands: Wally Yachts

Arguably the most recognizable boats on the water, Wally Yachts scream speed and aggressiveness with their carbon-fiber components and bold lines. But these striking examples of modern naval architecture are equally notable for their subtleties, including a smart use of space that extends to each of the Monaco-based builder’s many models.

Founded by the seasoned yachtsman Luca Bassani Antivari in 1994, Wally Yachts offers futuristic designs in virtually every boating category, from the 43-foot WallyOne day cruiser and 86-foot WallyAce semicustom floating villa to the 100-foot WallyCento performance sloops and over-the-top custom sailing yachts. Recent launches include the second build in the yard’s WallyCento series, Magic Carpet, which is the lightest sailing yacht in its class and recently logged the fastest race time at a regatta in Majorca.

Wally’s largest vessel to date, the 167-foot custom sailing yacht Better Place,is constructed almost entirely of carbon fiber, which contributes to a 250-ton displacement (about half the weight of most yachts its size). The yacht’s amenities include a nearly 1,000-square-foot deckhouse and a Jacuzzi that can be concealed beneath the foredeck.

Kanga, the first launch in the WallyAce series, features a truly remarkable amount of living space for a sub-100-foot yacht. Highlights include the sprawling 650-square-foot sundeck and two water-level master suites, both of which offer direct access to an aft swim platform. www.wally.com
