Innovation: Hinckley Dasher, Adler Suprema, and Heesen Home
Eco-friendly doesn’t mean settling for less, judging from the stats of this year’s greenest and most technically innovative yachts. Hinckley’s 28.5-foot Dasher, the world’s first fully electric day boat, pushes the speedometer to 24 knots (it has a fast cruising speed of up to 23 knots). The 76-foot Adler Suprema’s diesel-electric configuration delivers a 3,500-mile transatlantic range. The hybrid engines of Heesen’s 163-foot Home sip just 71 gallons per hour at 16 knots and a miserly 26 gph at 12 knots.
