Refit: Feadship Dojo
Most yacht owners wouldn’t dare undertake a refit on a 38-year-old yacht after it had experienced several previous makeovers. The Monaco-based owner of Dojo, however, saw the special personality inside the Jon Bannenberg–designed Feadship, realizing the 150-foot vessel could be turned into a contemporary superyacht with the right vision. Italian refit specialist Lusben refashioned the square stern, which dated the yacht, by replacing it with a 10-foot extension featuring a deep swim platform—thereby modernizing Dojo’s profile. Part two involved returning the interior to a classic look, foregoing the campy beach-house design the previous owner had installed. Among dozens of changes, Lusben raised the ceilings, while Domus Nova Design revamped the wood- and stonework, and even built a library around the center staircase. As part of the yacht’s refit, Dojo also received new Naiad stabilizers, an air-conditioning system, and 2,476 square feet of teak decks.
