One of the most exciting launches at FLIBS this year will be the M90 Panacera from Hatteras. The moniker was chosen to reflect the panoramic views of the 90-footer’s open-plan layout as well as the ease of movement throughout the yacht. The first M90 has an open flybridge, though a closed bridge with air conditioning is also available. The yacht’s exterior social areas include the aft deck, with a large lounge, dining table, and bar. The foredeck also has a dining table and sun lounge, and the flybridge is designed for alfresco dining or large get-togethers as well.
The M90’s social graces are noteworthy across its exterior spaces but the interior design makes Hatteras’s intention to be the premier U.S. yacht builder even more obvious. The open-plan main deck features a large salon, galley and two dining areas (one a formal dining table and the other a dinette under a skylight in the galley). The sense of space is accentuated by connecting picture windows and a fold-down balcony on the yacht’s port side.
Hatteras designed the M90 with the four staterooms on the lower deck to maximize space on both decks. The full-beam master suite features a king-size bed, and en suite bathroom with two sinks, toilet, and large shower. It also has three closets and built-in dressers made by the Hatteras Cabinet Shop. The other three staterooms are also generous in size, and all en suite.
Proprietary technology like the new HattCON, a ship management system that integrates navigation, vessel monitoring, and other features into a touchscreen interface, also distinguish the new M90. Its Crestron system allows owners and guests to control the yacht’s onboard entertainment systems by iPad, without using multiple interfaces. The M90 puts Hatteras on par with European competitors in terms of style, space, and build quality. The added bonus for American yachties is that it’s one of the few U.S. builders with a pedigree that’s respected around the world.
