The long-awaited Wider 150 superyacht has successfully completed its sea trials, and the Italian yacht builder has released details about its lavish, newly completed 1,000-square-foot beach club, which is larger than that of any other yacht of comparable size and is sure to be a centerpiece of the already over-the-top yacht. The ocean oasis features a saltwater swimming pool that can transform at the push of a button into a tender bay that houses a custom 32-foot tender. Larger than many hotel suites, the space offers guests easy access to the water and plenty of space for sunbathing.
The Wider 150’s spacious sundeck offers 360-degree views and a full bar that provides the perfect place to grab a margarita or tropical cocktail before retiring to the hot tub. A concealed foredeck lounge at the front of the wheelhouse showcases an entertainment area with sofas and a flat-screen television. A hidden one-car garage is also onboard.
Sea trials, which were completed in February, easily met expectations. The Wider 150 hit its projected maximum speed of 15 knots, while consuming 15 percent less fuel than vessels of comparable size. Wider 150’s diesel-electric system offers low levels of noise and vibration while at sea, and its batteries can power the boat for up to 8 hours. The yacht is priced at approximately $28 million.
Wider is also working on the Wider 165, a sister superyacht which will be equipped with a beach club capable of housing a personal submarine as well as a private foredeck with a helipad and hot tub. The yacht will also feature a full-beam master suite with a private terrace overlooking the ocean and four en-suite guest rooms. White marble, oak, and leather touches will accent the interior. The Wider 165 is scheduled to be delivered to its owner next year. (wider-yachts.com)
