Recently delivered to its owners by Trinity Yachts, the 191-foot Carpe Diem was launched and sea-trialed at the tail end of 2010. This tri-deck aluminum motor yacht sports a Carol Williamson & Associates interior, naval architecture by Trinity Yachts, and exterior styling by Trinity’s Geoff van Aller.
“Carpe Diem is elegant, modern, and understated, and at the same time warm and welcoming,” says Carol Williamson. The designer gave the yacht dark, warm hues in the form of Macassar ebony wall panels and ebonized cherry wood casework throughout. Pale cream ceilings and lush custom wool carpeting create a modern contrast, Williamson points out. Subtle European Deco details enhance the clean modern lines of the architectural detailing and custom furniture. “[The] high-gloss custom wood furniture played against elegant textiles creates a dramatic combination of color and texture,” says Williamson. Carpe Diem accommodates 12 guests in a main-deck split-level master stateroom and five cabins down below, one of which doubles as a gym.
In addition to its multiple outdoor entertaining and lounging areas, Carpe Diem boasts a hot tub on the sundeck.
Twin 3,384 hp Caterpillar engines propel her to a top speed of 19.5 knots and a cruise speed of 17. Cruising at 10 knots gives Carpe Diem—which is ABS Maltese Cross A1 Yachting Service, AMS, and MCA compliant—a range of 4,000 nautical miles. (228.276.1000, www.trinityyachts.com)
