Ulysse Nardin and Midnight Express Create One-of-a-Kind Powerboat

The Swiss watchmaker celebrates the collaboration with the debut of a limited-edition dive watch…

A master builder of marine chronometers for more than 150 years, Ulysse Nardin has partnered with the high-performance boat builder Midnight Express on a new nautical venture, the Ulysse Nardin Edition Midnight Express 43. Propelled by four 557 hp Seven Marine engines, the one-off, 43-foot powerboat is painted in the watchmaker’s signature blue-and-gold color scheme and features its logo throughout. Detailed renderings of its famed Freak watch complication adorn the sides of the hull and the center console.

To celebrate the collaboration, Ulysse Nardin will create 100 limited-edition Marine Diver Midnight Express timepieces that are water-resistant to depths of nearly 1,000 feet. The stainless-steel, self-winding watch features an engraved likeness of its namesake boat on the back of its case, and rippling wave patterns are painted around the unidirectional rotating bezel. The Midnight Express logo motif appears on the dial, and Seven Marine’s numerical logo sits, naturally, at 7 o’clock. Priced at $10,500, the Marine Diver Midnight Express is a bargain compared to its $1.2 million powerboat counterpart. (ulysse-nardin.com)
