The Italian-built Dominator 640 (+43.1.24027.522, www.dominatoryachts.com) has amenities and operational systems that are more common to long-range megayachts than they are to a 64-foot vessel. These features include redundant engine-room systems, thermal night-vision cameras, tablet-app-controlled steering, smartphone-app-controlled entertainment systems, and two joystick docking stations—one on the flybridge and one on the main deck.
The 640’s standard configuration fits in three cabins belowdecks, including a master suite that runs the width of the yacht’s 16-foot beam and covers about 225 square feet. Oak floors, Brazilian carbalho cabinetry, backlit onyx wall accents (optional) in the saloon, and Alcantara ceiling panels are among the interior design elements.
The Dominator 640 has a starting price of $2.8 million. The first example, which debuted at the Cannes boat show in September, required nine months to build, following six months of research and development. According to Dominator, future commissions can be completed in just five months.
