The Jaguar F-Type Coupe follows on the heels of the acclaimed F-Type Convertible...

A near replica of the C-X16 concept designed by Ian Callum and introduced in 2011, the Jaguar F-Type Coupe (www.jaguarusa.com) follows on the heels of the acclaimed F-Type Convertible. According to Callum, “Creating a sports coupe is the purest of design tasks, and also the most challenging; get it right and aesthetically the result will be as dynamic as the car should be rewarding to drive.” The R version of the coupe is the most sporting and agile model in the Jaguar lineup. It has a starting price of $99,000 and will go on sale in June. The R Coupe’s 5-liter V-8 engine produces 550 hp (versus 340 hp for the standard F-Type Coupe’s engine and 380 hp for the F-Type S Coupe) and enables a zero-to-60-mph time of 4 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 186 mph. Carbon Ceramic Matrix brakes are an optional feature. The bonded and riveted aluminum chassis promises tight and responsive handling in league with that of seriously credentialed sports cars.
