A New Horizon For Private Aviation

Growth, Innovation, And Sustainability

NetJets NetJets

Beginning as the first private jet charter and management company, NetJets has led the industry for nearly 60 years. Today, as a Berkshire Hathaway company, NetJets offers a full range of personalized solutions to meet—and exceed—the incredible needs and high standards of the world’s most notable travelers. While the landscape of private travel continues to evolve, NetJets’ unparalleled commitment to safety, service, and access remains unmatched in private aviation. In order to grow responsibly, NetJets is taking measures to meet demand by growing their fleet of 800+ aircraft, gaining new talent, and continuing sustainability efforts.

Focused on Growth

Many operators have been pushing to increase their fleet size, but no one is doing it at the scale of NetJets. They paused aircraft disposals, pulled forward deliveries where possible, and exhausted all production capacity from their world-class manufacturing partners. After purchasing 55 new aircraft in 2021, their industry-leading fleet surpassed 800 aircraft worldwide. This year alone, they are looking forward to acquiring nearly 80 new aircraft. And by the end of 2023, they will welcome five Global 5500s to their long-range fleet. Other upcoming highlights include the delivery of additional Global 7500s, NetJets’ new flagship, and up to 100 Phenom 300Es.

To support the ongoing increase in fleet demand, NetJets hired more than 630 of the brightest, most experienced individuals in the industry in 2021. Recruiting for service-focused, cross-business employees is continuing in 2022, with more than 450 new pilots anticipated. This will bring NetJets to nearly 4,000 pilots worldwide.

Purposefully building for the future, NetJets has made a significant investment in new, dedicated facilities, including increasing staffing of NetJets Service Representatives (NSRs) who currently deliver bespoke service at 16 locations strategically placed throughout the country. Their responsibilities include welcoming each NetJets Owner and reviewing the accuracy of each flight’s unique logistics, including catering, ground transportation, and special requests. From offering a simple means to family time to ensuring the comfort of customers’ pets, NetJets proves time and again that they are invested in building long-term relationships.

Innovation: The New NetJets Flagship Aircraft

With the delivery of the Global 7500, NetJets has redefined what is possible for their fleet, expanding their range and bringing unprecedented luxury to transcontinental travel. When paired with their unwavering commitment to safety and exceptional service, the Global 7500 is the premier NetJets travel experience.

As the largest aircraft with the farthest range, the 7500 adds a whole new dimension to NetJets’ long-range aircraft offerings. It means NetJets Owners can fly in absolute luxury from San Francisco to Sydney—without needing to stop for fuel. This much-needed time savings allows customers to continue doing more and missing less.

In addition, the 7500 offers innovative Nuage seats for complete comfort, Soleil lighting system to reduce jet lag, and four completely private spaces to work, rest, and enjoy the company of fellow travelers.

Commitment to Sustainability

In 2021, NetJets became the first private aviation company to buy a stake in the production of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) when they partnered with WasteFuel®, a next-generation waste-to-fuel business that converts municipal waste into SAF. Together they will establish up to five biorefineries where solid waste management is a major problem. The first will be in Manilla, Philippines, and is slated to be operational in 2025.

In continued support of sustainability goals, NetJets announced a partnership with Lilium®, a Munich-based manufacturer of electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) jets. In this partnership, NetJets has the right to purchase up to 150 Lilium jets for use in their shared ownership program and will provide operations support for Lilium’s upcoming Florida hub. Like NetJets, FlightSafety International is a Berkshire Hathaway company and will also partner to provide Crew training products and services that will support Lilium operations.

NetJets hopes their perseverance will inspire others in the industry to establish—or increase—their own forward-thinking initiatives.
