High season in the Maldives, March also marks the debut of the Indian Ocean nation’s latest atoll-turned-private-island-resort: Kudadoo Private Island by Hurawalhi. The adults-only retreat, located 40 minutes by seaplane from the capital of Malé, features 15 overwater villas with private swimming pools and dual-level outdoor decks. The resort is the work of New York–based architect Yuji Yamasaki, whose Maldivian resume also includes the Velana International Airport, the Conrad Maldives, and Kudadoo’s sibling property, Hurawalhi Island Resort. Hurawalhi is just 5 minutes away by boat, so Kudadoo guests can easily hop over to experience all that the 90-villa resort has to offer—including the world’s largest all-glass undersea restaurant.
