Estimated at $1.2 million to $1.4 million
Only three Isotta Fraschinis with Castagna boattail cabriolet bodies survive, and this is one of them. Actor and singer Sergio Franchi, one of its past owners, dubbed it “the Grey Goddess,” and the name stuck. “It’s dramatic, it has great presence, and it’s restored to better-than-new condition,” Kelleher says of the machine, noting that its mid-2000s restoration was followed by a 2nd in Class award at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in 2009.
“It’s the equivalent of an early 1930s sports car. I love Ferraris, but I would take an Isotta Fraschini any day, personally,” says Kelleher. “They don’t accelerate quite as quickly, but I love the way they sound and I love the way the engine looks.”
