Bold outfits that are meant to stand out in a crowd have fallen by the wayside, and in their place is the rise of more restrained looks, referred to as “simplified luxury.” Salvatore Ferragamo and Sacai’s models have been stepping onto the runway in long, chain earrings with a single pearl; Versace and Rag & Bone have opted for understated metal-hoop earrings; and Giambattista Valli and other designers have gone for long, understated pendant chains. Looking at the change in taste, the phrase “all great things are simple” comes to mind.
