The work of renowned fashion photographer Bruce Weber will be on view in a summer-long exhibition at the Bellport-Brookhaven Historical Society in Bellport, Long Island—a small seaside village that served as one of Weber’s favorite locations for his famous photo shoots in the early ’80s. For decades, Weber’s fashion photography has appeared in Vogue, GQ, and Interview magazinesas well as in campaigns for Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein.
The exhibition kicks off on June 16 with a gala dinner ($150), at which Isabella Rossellini—who made her American fashion debut in a series of test shots by Weber in Bellport in 1981—will lead a live auction of signed, limited-edition Bruce Weber photos. The exhibit will be open every subsequent Thursday, Friday, and Saturday through Labor Day, featuring about 30 images taken in the town and surrounding areas, including photographs made for British Vogue honoring American photographer Edward Weston, which were taken on Weber’s own Bellport property.
