A Fresh Face on the New York City Art Scene

This month, Britishart dealership Trinity House Paintings,which has locations in London and Gloucestershire, will make its New York City debut with its new gallery on East 64th St. From October 20 to 27, Trinity House New York will host its inaugural exhibition, From Constable to Cézanne, which will showcase Edgar Degas’ charcoal drawing Dancer (Préparation en dedans, 1885, $400,000), alongside Claude Monet’s notable Waterloo Bridge (1901, $2.4 million) pastel, the only one of 26 pastels portraying the River Thames available from this period. In total, about 20 important British paintings and Impressionist and Post impressionist works ($25,000 to $3.8 million) will be presented, featuring George Stubbs,Paul Cézanne, and Eugène Boudin, among others.
