The fourth pen in the company’s Great Characters collection, the Montblanc Great Characters Limited Edition Leonardo (www.montblanc.com) honors the Italian artist, scientist, and inventor Leonardo da Vinci. Many of the $3,615 pen’s details refer to Leonardo’s fascination with flight. The nib displays a reproduction of his drawing of a bat in flight, and the grip is engraved with his sketch of a mechanical wing for a flying machine. Montblanc’s emblem is hidden in the cap and can be viewed by looking into a concealed mirror also housed in the cap—a nod to the mirrored writing in Leonardo’s journals.
