Like Bilbo Baggins’ journey, the creation of the Hobbit game (jerseyjackpinball.com) took longer than expected. Jersey Jack Pinball began developing the machine before the completion of The Battle of the Five Armies, the third film in the Hobbit trilogy. When company owner Jack Guarnieri saw the movie and realized that a climactic scene did not play out the way the filmmakers told him it would, he and his team had to spend nearly a year redesigning the game. Jersey Jack Pinball completed and released the Hobbit earlier this year and now offers four versions that range in price from $8,000 to $9,500.
