More than 30,000 works of art will be on display from 260 exhibitors at The European Fine Art Fair Maastricht, held March 18 to 27 in the Maastricht Exhibition and Congress Centre in the Netherlands. Among the treasures that are sure to create excitement are works by Rembrandt and El Greco. Gallery Otto Naumann Ltd. is offering Portrait of a Man with Arms Akimbo (1658), one of the last privately owned works by Rembrandt and one of only two works known from the artist’s late period, and Spanish dealer Deborah Elvira is showing El Greco’s Ecce Home, the only known sculpture signed by the artist, dating back to the end of the 16th century.
The Maastricht art fair will also showcase six newly established art galleries and dealers this year: Master Drawings specialist Crispian Riley-Smith from the UK; Galerie 1492, a Parisian gallery specializing in pre-Colombian and colonial American art; Parisian antiques dealer Galerie David Ghezelbash; London-based Gibson Antiques; modern and contemporary Parisian art dealer Sophie Scheidecker; and Elle Shushan Fine Portrait Miniatures gallery in Philadelphia.
