Scheduled for completion in 2017, M+ is developing under the auspices of the Swiss design firm Herzog & de Meuron. Plans for the museum of design, film, architecture, and visual art are bold—the structure is expected to measure nearly 650,000 square feet—and already M+ is making a statement. The curators have shown works, such as inflatable installations by Paul McCarthy and Jeremy Deller, at the museum’s West Kowloon site, and they have initiated a series of exhibitions. The current exhibit, Mobile M+: NeonSigns.HK (online until June 30), explores the city’s neon signs. www.neonsigns.hk
