The Los Angeles–based designer Mary McDonald is known for her sophisticated interiors, which often combine bold patterns, Indian influences, chinoiserie, and modern lines. Now she is bringing her signature style to rugs and fabrics. Her rug collection (priced for the trade from $43 per square foot) for Patterson, Flynn & Martin ranges in style from simple geometric patterns to more elaborate designs featuring fretwork and Art Deco influences. Materials for the 18 rugs include hand-knotted Tibetan wool and silk, and colorways span from neutral beiges and creams to deep blues and burgundies. Each piece is made to order and can be custom-matched to any interior. For her fabrics (trade priced from $110 per yard), McDonald collaborated with the company Schumacher to produce a number of different patterns on cotton matelassé, finely woven linen, silk velvet, embroidered tape, and appliqués. The rich color palette ranges from orange and aquamarine to blush pink and jet black.
