Keeping Its Cool

For almost 70 years, Sub-Zero has been manufacturing built-in refrigeration systems that blend seamlessly with the latest kitchen cabinetry. In the mid-1990s, the company introduced the first integrated cooling designs, such as refrigerated drawers and wine storage. This fall, Sub-Zero will launch its newest integrated models, including drawers, columns, and tall units that will be available in widths ranging from 18 inches to 36 inches; most will be offered in freezer, refrigerator, or combined freezer and refrigerator versions. Among the features for these models, which are priced from $3,850, are water-filtration and air-purification systems, the latter of which are intended to remove common mold, bacteria, ethylene gas, and viruses from the air and allow food to stay fresher longer. All models will be available in stainless steel or in almost any material and color to blend with existing cabinetry.
