OBJECTS OF DESIRE: The Winter Antiques Show Celebrates 63 years as America’s Preeminent Art, Antiques and Design Fair from January 20-29, 2017 at the Park Avenue Armory, New York, NY

From January 20-29, 2017, the Winter Antiques Show will celebrate its 63rd year as America’s leading art, antiques and design fair, featuring over 70 renowned specialist dealers in fine and decorative arts from around the world. It is the only fair at the Park Avenue Armory that offers works of art from the ancient through the contemporary, reflecting how people truly collect today—across many diverse collecting categories and periods in history. One-third of the Show’s exhibitors are specialists in Americana, with the rest featuring English, European and Asian fine and decorative arts.  For collectors, connoisseurs, museum curators, interior designers and art aficionados, New York is the place to be in January with the iconic Winter Antiques Show as the celebrated linchpin of Americana week – a week-long convergence of auctions, exhibitions and fairs, focusing on American antiques, folk art, paintings fine and decorative arts — categories in which the Winter Antiques Show continues to be the leader.  All net proceeds from the Show benefit East Side House Settlement, a nationally recognized community-based organization in the South Bronx. Returning for a 21st year, the Show’s Presenting Sponsor is Chubb.

For the 2017 edition, the Winter Antiques Show will host an exceptional loan exhibition from the Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Folk Art Museum: Revolution & Evolution. The loan exhibition at the Winter Antiques Show honors the Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Folk Art Museum (AARFAM), one of the Art Museums of Colonial Williamsburg in Virginia. The museum is the oldest continuously operating institution in the United States dedicated solely to the collection, exhibition and preservation of American folk art, and it commemorates its 60th anniversary in 2017. The Winter Antiques Show’s 2017 loan exhibition sponsor is Bessemer Trust.

Every object exhibited at the Winter Antiques Show is vetted for authenticity, date, and condition by a committee of 160 experts from the United States and Europe. The strict vetting regulations and the vettors’ expertise ensure that buyers can purchase with confidence.
