Los Angeles, CA. (July 2014)-The perfect symbiosis between design and first-class materials characterizes the new additions that SELVA presented at the 2014 Salone del Mobile in Milan. A total of twelve creations made from Canaletto walnut that carries the signatures of two masters in their field: that of Dainelli Design Studio and of the internationally renowned furniture manufacturer SELVA.
“Milan is an international hub and for us a great opportunity to show our new introductions worldwide, as the Salone del Mobile attracts people all over the world. At this Edition we brought a wonderful new program named INDIGO designed by Leonardo Dainelli form Italy. For SELVA this novelty is a real evolution and with it we are going into a direction to strengthen the SELVA Identity.” said Philipp Selva, President and CEO of SELVA.
Out of the collaboration between SELVA and the Dainelli Design Studio has arisen a modern decorating concept that reflects the history of the furniture manufacturer and the spirit of innovation of the designer. The forms of the creations were based on the 1960s, the decade in which SELVA was born. Leonardo Dainelli has taken over the lines of this era but has reinterpreted their construction from the ground up. The result is modern designs that are also functional and individual.
The entire decorating concept was refined by the three new European cow leathers with a vintage look, in the shades of gray, earth, and chocolate brown. They emphasize the warm coloration of the Canaletto walnut and its natural grain. In combination with the cool materials of marble and glass, a harmonious contrast is created which lends the setting a natural, modern look.
The new design furniture was inserted into the tradeshow stand in a stylistically confident manner. With the refined interplay of warm and cool elements, the noble selection of fabrics, leathers, finishes and forms as well as the creative finesse, SELVA in this way made it possible to experience its concept of furnishing directly with the senses.
SELVA was founded in 1968 by Peppi Selva as a family operation, over the course of many years the company has developed into a brand that’s respected and appreciated worldwide. The name SELVA stands for creativity, variety, and Italian handicraft quality. There is a special interplay of tradition and modernity and that famous “Transitional” that provides the SELVA touch that can be seen in every piece of furniture. With its headquarters in Bolzano, SELVA is rooted in Italian culture and the fine tradition of creating quality hand crafted furniture designs.
