For 15 years, Vincent Dubourg has been dazzling collectors and bystanders alike with his robust and captivating metal creations—all an exploration of strength, materiality, and aesthetic determination. This month saw a new showing of his work with the ever-on-the-pulse design outfit Carpenters Workshop Gallery. The Vortex series is a muscular and contemplative take on the present day, seeking to “engulf it in a vortex and take it to a new planet and other ways of living,” the artist has said. “It is about the deconstruction of society, systems, and forms.” Crafted in bronze, the Buffet Grand Vortex holds all these precepts with stunning, explosive impact. Limited to only eight pieces and four artist proofs, Dubourg’s creation is definitely punching above its weight.
