Off the Wall

For nearly 70 years, Farrow & Ball has been creating water-based paints from its rural outpost in South West England. For its newest collection of wallpaper, which launches later this month, Farrow & Ball implemented traditional block and trough printing methods to transfer shades of their artisanal, VOC-free paint (ink is more standardly used) onto eco-friendly, FSC-approved paper. The four wallpapers are the first designs to incorporate the brand’s new colors such as Stiffkey Blue and Purbeck Stone (named after regions in England) and offer a vibrant twist on traditional patterns. Both Jasmine ($225 per roll) and Samphire ($225 per roll) are inspired from foliage and are updated versions of wallpapers in the Farrow & Ball archives. Parquet ($260 per roll) is a modern interpretation of a herringbone parquet floor, and the Chromatic Stripe ($170 per roll) offers a bold rendition of the timeless vertical design. Each pattern is available in five colorways.
