Wood Shop

Last month the Manhattan-based company Bespoke Global—which pairs its clients with accomplished designers and other highly skilled craftspeople for the development of custom furnishings—began working with four artists who specialize in wooden sporting goods. Their contributions have already expanded Bespoke Global’s line of leisure-oriented products, all of which can be customized. Jamey Rouch designs baseball bats ($350) that feature decorative lines made from individual blocks of wood. Masterworks’ Gypsy wood bicycle ($7,953) has a vintage look. ArteMare handcrafts beach racquets ($315) from domestic and sustainably sourced exotic woods. And Sanborn Canoe’s Gitchi Gummi paddle ($140) has an elegant, traditional shape. All of the pieces are fully functional for their respective summer activities, but they also look elegant when displayed in a home during the winter months.
