March is notoriously trench coat season for much for the Northern Hemisphere. The 160-year-old British luxury fashion house Burberry, whose name is synonymous with the trench coat, has just updated the timeless wardrobe essential just in time for the rainy spring season. Now, you can monogram your Burberry Heritage trench coat at purchase—a personalization option for the outerwear that has never before been offered—with up to three serif initials.
Available in 15 hues of thread, the lettering is applied by hand to the inside of the trench panel when the coat is hand-cut and handcrafted at the company’s atelier in Castleford, England. Available in-store and online in all of the brand’s Heritage trench cuts—including the most recent style, the Chelsea—the new service is the latest addition to the brand’s repertoire of customization. This includes the monogramming of cashmere scarves, wool-and-cashmere ponchos, and women’s My Burberry perfume bottles.
Men’s Heritage trench coats are priced from $1,695, with monogramming costing an additional $150 for adults, ($120 for children). The finished product is delivered in two to three weeks. (burberry.com)
