More like gentlemen’s clubs than boutiques, Berluti’s new stores in Paris, New York City, Tokyo, and other fashion capitals entice clients with stylish appointments and strategically placed seating areas that beckon one to linger, unwind, and enjoy the surroundings. Designed by the architect Gwenaël Nicolas with furniture by Gaetano Pesce and artwork by such luminaries as the photographers Elliott Erwitt and Rodney Smith, the stores also have private areas for bespoke consultations and fittings, artfully displayed clothes and accessories, and patina bars where patrons can have their Berluti shoes polished and colored to their liking. These stores reflect the same refined aesthetic that informs Berluti’s clothing and accessories, which include this lamb’s-wool coat ($4,970), wool-and-mohair trousers ($1,035), cotton-and-silk shirt ($805), silk tie ($250), leather boots ($2,720), and leather bag ($3,650).
