Elements of Style

Jacob Arabo has created some of hip-hop’s most outrageous  bling, but as the owner of Jacob & Co. in Manhattan, he also grasps how to incorporate sensational stones into more restrained designs. His gift is evident in the Splendors of Nature necklace (price upon request), which features three collectible colored stones—a 10.09-carat vivid purple-pink diamond, a 5-carat vivid blue diamond, and a 3.94-carat vivid yellow diamond—plus 44.09-carat and 74.77-carat internally flawless diamonds. The purple-pink stone alone is worth upwards of $25 million, Arabo says, “because any colored diamond more than five carats is extremely unusual, especially in such a saturated color.” Most jewelers would set each of these standout diamonds in its own singular piece, but then nobody expects the ordinary from Arabo. “This necklace illustrates my true passion for rare, collectible stones,” he says, “and shows the kind of unique inventory we have.” Jacob & Co., 212.719.5887, www.jacobandco.com

Ermenegildo Zegna’s cashmere accessories bring a touch of luxury to an evening at home by the fire—or a touch of home to an excursion aboard a private jet or yacht. The gray flannel and burgundy cashmere pieces include slippers with suede details ($420), a plush scarf ($525), and a “home set” that includes an eye mask, a down-filled pillow, and a blanket ($2,295). Any or all of these amenities will add welcome warmth to a cold winter’s night. Ermenegildo Zegna, 212.421.4488, www.zegna.com.

The distinctive Hermès oval belt buckle, like the brand’s signature Kelly bag, is an internationally recognized emblem of style. For this holiday season, Hermès has created the Mini Athena ($19,700), a white-gold buckle with 96 diamonds brilliantly accenting Philippe Mouquet’s original design. A limited number of the buckles, offered on a crocodile strap ($2,200), will be produced this year. Each is a cinch to delight its lucky recipient. Hermès, 800.441.4488, www.hermes.com
