The Milanese rainwear company Sealup (sealup.net), which has been producing waterproof toppers for fashion houses since 1935, is entering the U.S. market for the first time this fall. New models include the twill peacoat shown here ($1,795) and a laser-cut wool raincoat ($1,695). The company begins its multistep production process for its most technologically advanced cotton raincoat by giving it a superlight water-repellent resin finish, then bonding it with a thin polyurethane membrane to make it waterproof. The interior seams and exterior pockets are taped, creating a waterproof shell and a streamlined, almost seamless garment.
