It was always going to be difficult for guests to outshine King Charles III at Saturday’s coronation. The newly crowned monarch was decked out in gilded garb and centuries-old regalia, after all. Image Credit: Getty The Prince of Wales wore the ceremonial dress uniform of the Welsh Guards to mark his new position as Colonel of the Regiment. Made from Hainsworth’s scarlet wool doeskin, the uniform featured intricate gold embroidery on the collar and cuffs.

The Princess of Wales
Image Credit: Getty The Princess of Wales sported an ivory silk crepe gown designed by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen. (Burton also made her wedding dress in 2011.) The gown, which was embellished with silver bullion and embroidered with national emblems, was topped by the red-and-blue Royal Victorian Order Mantle. The princess also wore an elegant bejeweled headpiece that was custom-made by British milliner Jess Collett in collaboration with Burton. Burton also created a matching ivory dress for Princess Charlotte.

Queen Camilla

Made from a peau de soie silk, the dress featured celebratory bunting in antique gold and silver thread. It was also adorned with an array of flowers in honor of the royal couple’s love of nature. Camilla also got to don Queen Mary’s Crown which notably features the famous Cullinan III, IV, and V diamonds.
