Functionality, performance, comfort—these are the underpinnings of the new spring sportswear lineup from Ermenegildo Zegna (zegna.com). “This collection responds to the needs of today’s young professional who is no longer confined to traditional [dress] in the workplace,” says CEO Gildo Zegna, noting that this is his company’s first series without a single suit. Although the clothes are sportier in style, they still convey the brand’s dedication to sartorial craft; pieces include the gray linen blazer ($1,995), cotton knit sweater ($595), and cotton-and-linen trousers ($395) shown above.
Many items in the collection feature Zegna’s innovative performance fabrics, including Trofeo Elements lightweight wool, which holds its shape in slimmed-down blazers and trousers, and a tightly woven Australian wool called High Performance that makes knitwear resistant to wrinkling and pilling. Zegna also offers the new spring styles through its Su Misura made-to-measure program, giving customers the opportunity to develop a completely personalized wardrobe.
