As part of Milan Design Week Fuori Salone, the windows of the Fratelli Rossetti boutique, Montenapoleone, Milan, were taken over by the installation Isola/Island by renowned artist Letizia Cariello, represented by the Galleria Massimo Minini Brescia.
According to the family, “Fratelli Rossetti is pleased to highlight a talented artist and her poetry of the everyday. Letizia’s work is mindful of the contemporary world, and Milan is the perfect place to host it. Isola pays homage to its creative-meets-meditative soul.”
The artist’s favorite Fratelli Rossetti lace-ups take center stage in a timeless setting. “When Fratelli Rossetti contacted me it made so much sense. I just drew out something consistent: a dialogue with the objects, shoes, interiors that I had already started elsewhere. I know Rossetti and the spots, and I know the shoes. As a result, the imaginary island was already in my mind.”
Her works can be seen in both public and private collections worldwide. Letizia was chosen by the European Community to take part in the “New Narrative for Europe” project along with other European artists. She lives and works in Milan, where she teaches at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Brera.
With 60 years committed to quality shoemaking, Fratelli Rossetti celebrates art and design every day.
