Front Runners July 2015: Lasting Impressions

Noah Waxman's eponymous line of men's shoes feature artisanal design and superior craftsmanship.

A chance encounter in Amsterdam with an artisanal cobbler inspired Noah Waxman (noahwaxman.com) to study shoemaking. After spending a decade in the Netherlands learning the craft, he returned home to New York City in 2008 and five years later started an eponymous line of men’s shoes. Waxman’s skills are evident in models such as the $595 Beacon three-eyelet chukka, which is shown here in chestnut and can be made either from American bison or loden-green leather from Chicago’s Horween Leather Company.
